The Arab world consists of lovely people. Most of them are willing to help whenever you need directions to a place you have no idea about. They will take you through the ropes of their society as long as you ask them to. In short, the people of Arabian countries are pleasant. What unifies them is the Arabic language. Just like many other languages, this language has variations or rather dialects. Though the variations, these dialects share in the use of the modern standardized language which is Classical Arabic. Arabic is also the language of religion and theological scholarship.
Islam is the main religion of the Arab world and it is also the official religion of most of the countries. Islam, just like other religions has different denominations. The denominations are Sunni, which is the most common, Shia, Shiite, and Ibadi. Though Islam is the religion of the majority, Christianity is also practiced by a sizeable number of people. Christians are quite many in Egypt, Lebanon, and Palestine. Small Jewish communities are also present in Arabian countries.
Literacy levels are also something worth noticing when it comes to Arabian countries. Adult literacy is about 76.9%. There is steady improvement in the average rate of adult literacy as the absolute number of adult illiterates declined to 58 million from 64 million between 1990 and 2004. The ratio of literate levels among adults is 69 literate women for every 100 literate men. This ratio is far much better than other parts of the world. According to the UN, a person in an Arabian country reads four pages a year and a single new title is printed or rather published annually for every twelve thousand people. A person getting a good education is on the upsurge due to the liberalizations being witnessed in the various Arabic countries.
The youth are more literate than adults which means that the future of Arabic countries is bright. The youth tend to understand politics, society, and tolerance more than the adults. The adults tolerate more than usual. This is probably why they were not the ones who initiated rebellion against oppressing governments. The youths have been educated and they know their rights and other people’s rights. They know when to stand up and when to let things go. One can say that the politics, society, and economic state of the Arabic countries will be more stable because the youth being raised are very responsible and knowledgeable. The women of Arabic countries are also being empowered constantly and they are willing to lead when needed. Women are actually holding high ranks in various organizations.
Just because they are known as Arabic countries, you should know that not all of the population consider themselves as of Arabic decent. Some of the population has no linguistic or ethnic affiliation to Arabs. In the Arab world you can find people who are of African decent, some are white, and others could be of oriental decent. The people of the Arab world enjoy watching and participating in certain sports. The most common sport is soccer. They love soccer so much that some of them have gone to the extent of buying various soccer clubs in different parts of the world.
